When he's not mauling the bell at the New York Stock Exchange, ProShares Executive Director Troy Goldstein moonlights as the Skating Club of New York's long-time executive vice president and newly-anointed president. Ten of our elite skaters and their partners visited him rink-side at Skate America. Notice how he manages the same suave smile in every photo. Troy, you missed your calling as a fashion model! Good luck, all Skate America competitors! |

Good luck, all SCNY teams and competitors! |
Note: The 2020 Challenger Series, 2020 Grand Prix Skate Canada, 2020 Grand Prix Internationaux de France and 2021 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships are cancelled. The remaining international events have become more nationally or regionally focused because of pandemic-related border restrictions. |
The Special Club Ice Sessions are for 2021 U.S. Figure Skating Championship Series skaters only. (Championship Series replaced the traditional Regional and Sectional competitions for the 2020-21 figure skating season due to the impact of COVID-19).
The Special Sunday Sessions at Sky Rink are as follows:
The cost is $35 per session.
You MUST reserve each session 24 hours in advance by signing into your SCNY account and clicking on the Contract Ice tab. If you are having a lesson on the session you must identify the coach by name when you register.
Walk-ons will be NOT permitted.
Please familiarize yourself with the Chelsea Piers protocols here https://www.chelseapiers.com/safety-first-commitment/
One-Time Social Responsibility Waiver
All skaters, coaches and visitors will be required to sign the Chelsea Piers Social Responsibility Waiver before checking into Chelsea Piers for the first time. This is a one-time waiver that will cover programs throughout the fall. http://chelseapiers.com/sra/
Daily Health Declaration
It is mandatory for everyone who comes into Chelsea Piers to complete a Health Declaration online the morning before each visit to Chelsea Piers to confirm they are not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, nor have they come in contact with someone who is experiencing symptoms. If under age 18, a legal guardian will need to sign the Health Declaration. This link will be distributed to each rental organizer for distribution to their group once payment is confirmed for contracted rental slot.
This can be filled out at home, on the bus, in the car, BUT it has to be filled out the day of the visit only. It expires that day. It cannot be filled out the night before. You will need to bring a copy of the form with you each time you skate. http://chelseapiers.com/dhd/

It is with great sadness that we have decided to cancel this year’s Middle Atlantic Championships. The Skating Club of New York has always prided itself on being cautious and protective of our skaters and our community. As we continued to work through the return to play and the obstacles surrounding Covid-19, we have determined that we could not assure everyone that we could safely run our event.
We hope that during this time you are preparing, training and most importantly, staying safe and healthy. We look forward to hosting you at our event in September of 2021, when we can celebrate the 95th anniversary of Mids together.
As the season progresses, Skating Club of New York members please be on the lookout for an exciting announcement and opportunity.
Thanks for your ongoing understanding and support.

Dear Skating Club of New York Members,
While the COVID-19 pandemic has changed our everyday lives, it has also brought us together in so many ways. As our skaters and their families eagerly await a return to the ice, we want to kick-off the 2020-21 season to make it as smooth as possible for you.
After you sign up for the new season you can purchase SCNY jackets and the Lululemon and ivivva shirts, hoodies and zip pullovers by clicking on the merchandise tab on the membership site.
Please note that The Skating Club of New York is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for members' physical, emotional and social development and ensuring that it promotes an environment free of misconduct. To further this goal, the Club requests the cooperation and agreement from all members, coaches, skaters, officials and parents, even if they are not Club members themselves. In order to renew membership, you will be asked to agree to the Skate Safe and Code of Conduct statements. There is a free course designed for the parents of athletes of all ages, which explains the issues of misconduct in sport and helps parents ensure their children have a positive and safe sport experience https://www.athletesafety.org/training/index.
As you renew your membership, please consider adding a donation to The Skating Club of New York Scholarship Fund. The Fund was created to foster the development of the club's competitive Singles, Pairs and Dance skaters by helping to subsidize some of the skaters' training expenses.
Yesterday NYC entered Phase 1.
On behalf of The Skating Club of New York we want to update you on The 95th Annual Middle Atlantic Figure Skating Championships scheduled for September 10-13.
Sky Rink is scheduled to open July 20th, as ice rinks are in Phase 4.
We do not yet know if we will be able to hold the competition.
The health and safety of our athletes, officials, and volunteers is our top priority. This is a dynamic situation, and as updated information becomes available we will be adapting the competition's format to comply with the latest guidelines. As a result, we may not be able to host our competition in its traditional format.
We will not open registration before July 20th, and will only do so if we will be able to enforce Governor Cuomo’s guidelines and the recommendations of US Figure Skating. If we are able to proceed with Mids, we will offer only IJS events (Juvenile through Senior). The 6.0 events (No Test through Open Juvenile and Excel events) will be rescheduled for another date.
Thank you for your understanding.
The Skyliners Junior team competes March 14-15 at the 2020 ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships in Nottingham, England. The Skyliners are the 2017-2020 US national champions and defending world bronze medalists. They will be joined in Nottingham by Teams Elite, the 2020 US silver medalists.
